For what its worth, this is a picture of the visitors to Poetry Aloud for all of 2010.

There is considerable variation month by month. November is interesting. The increase probably reflects us joining Twitter and the promotion of various poems there.

A brief explanation of terms:

Unique Visitors is what it says. It is the number of visitors to the site each month.

Number of Visits indicates that visitors come, on average, three times a month (No. of Visits/Unique Visitors).

The number of Pages visited is remarkable. Divide that by the Number of Visits and you see how many pages are read on each visit. All on average, of course.

'Hits' is rather technical and can be ignored. It indicates how many requests a browser has to make to fetch the pages. If a page has an image and an audio file plus a poem, that would be three hits. Add in the logo, four hits. The follow buttons add more hits to each page. Doesn't tell us much.

Bandwidth just tells us how much data we are transferring.
