I applaud Rob on his slightly halting paragraph published in the Bury Free Press 'Poetry Please' section. The staff are obviously unfamiliar with the concept of free verse; either that or his software is elderly and nobody bothered to adjust the settings. At least Poetry Aloud got a mention, even if the BFP made it appear that only weird half wits go there. Perhaps Rob may consider threatening legal action, to be withdrawn only if a half page item on POETRY ALOUD! the place it all happens! is published and the staff at BFP are sent on a workshop to make them literate.

The problem is that there is no leeway given on the width of the columns in that august journal, now that they have gone over to their new, harsher, format! I now realize that for a line to remain unbroken it must contain no more than 33 characters - including spaces between words as characters. Then there is the question of content. I may offer the following:
Dum de dum de dum de May / Dum de dum de dum de mow
Dum de dum de dum de hay / Dum de dum de dum de hoe.
Dum de dum de dum de fill / Dum de dum de dum de give
Dum de dum de dum de will / Dum de dum de dum to live...
