The September poems are now available in the Archive at http://poetryaloud.org.uk/archive/201009. This month produced a bumper crop, as Autumn ought, of poems of generally high quality. Some very high indeed.
We were honoured to have Ivor Murrell, who is the Suffolk Poetry Society Treasurer apart from being a fine poet, travel the width of the county to be with us for the first time. We hope it won't be the last. Ivor submitted his three poems to the site and we have put a link to his own website on the Links page: it is http://versifier.co.uk/.
We have recordings of all the poems this month. We have also included the song, which has become a traditional way of ending our evenings, because it was written by two of our contributors, Thraves Thraveson and Colin Whyles (er, yes, that is myself).
We now have a total of 355 poems on the Poetry Aloud web site, from 28 meetings and 27 poets. This is an average of over 12 new poems per meeting, which seems quite remarkable to me. Just how remarkable you would realise if you knew how many were not offered to the site.
Don't hesitate to comment on poems and score them. That feedback is very encouraging for our poets. Remember that your comments will not appear immediately. They will appear when the moderator has checked them. This is purely to stop unwanted content on the site.
