After I Have Gone Copyright © Thraves Thraveson 2010

The time draws near, when I shall soon be gone
No need for bravery, I do not fear
Now my last breath is near,
you went before, and though I do not have your faith
I still look forward to the great adventure
what will I find, nothing filled with nothing, emptiness
and I nowhere, not even to perceive the nothingness
Is this the end of my poor consciousness,
not thinking, not being aware
of my short stay, a thinking being, no more

Yet you believed that life continues,
albeit in a different form
so will I meet you there, will we resume
our long love story, and in what form
After death will my new memories stretch
backward to what came before this little life
and forward to what is to come
will I discover a history of loving you
a past before my stay on earth.

This is the next adventure of my life
and I look forward to the turning leaf
this is a story that I do not wish to end
but cannot wait to see what's next to come.
