I sense a certain coolness in the air
Has autumn come?
In my sky still you are the midday sun
but now and then I feel an icy chill.

I see no cloud
I feel no cooling breeze
No drops of rain
but still I feel the chill

Years have I lived without the sun
In such a temperate clime
I did not see the glow of love
nor feel the heat of passion

Till unaware I came within your orbit
and learned to live in tropic heat
without the need for shade
or sunscreen

I sense a certain coolness in the air
Is autumn come
presaging
the monsoon of my tears
