Two bikers, so in love were we,
She was blest but fate took me.
On this hill we made a vow,
‘Tis where my love is standing now;
“I’ll come to you on the breeze of love,
Caress your face as you gaze above,
Touch your lips, lift your flaxen hair,
You’ll know then, Darling, I’m with you there.”
You read this verse, no teardrops gather,
Five years have passed and your grieving’s over,
You think, alas, that I’m not there,
No precious wind to stir your hair,
No breath of life in me to say:
‘no sweet caress can I give today’.
A rose she drops into a shadow,
Then turns the page to sweet tomorrow,
Returns our words close to her breast,
Then hurries back to Greg’s caress.
Best friend of mine cares for Felicity,
After death there is no jealousy.
Forever I’ll stay by her side,
On the softest breeze of love I’ll ride,
And when Fay’s earthly life is done,
We’ll ride together beyond the sun.
