Extreme Ironing, or ironing under the skyCopyright © Sally Warrell 2010
Come saunter abroad
With your iron and your board
Under the wide blue sky
Come iron your shirt dry
Atop some death defying crag
Let your soleplate slip and snag
Let the rain splash and sprinkle
Flatten rumples and wrinkles
Forget your collars and cuffs
The taking part is enough
Or underwater, on a bike
On a raft or a hike
Wherever you can enjoy
The application of steam
The whole world is your toy
It’s an outward bound dream
It may seem silly or skittish
We’re not mad, we’re just British
