bittern his stock stillness

the miscreant his right to silence
condemned man of course his last meal
and spy his single capsule

the referee his red card
lawyer his loophole
priest his paradox

the diplomat his double agent
agent his poison-tipped umbrella
minister his memoirs.

And until now I had at least
advantage over fools
who fell into forbidden love.
