It can’t have been easy in those days
Joseph with his nephew Jesus,
visiting Cornwall,
trading in tin and lead
nor later the same Joseph,
sent by Philip, returning with
the “Cup that runneth over”

a removal of “landmarks”

Theres a rawness in the air
old familiar landmarks are no more
buildings crumbling & demolished
cleared without thought
preparing for a new world order
1984 already actualised - continuity of family line rubbished

sons of yeoman farmers sell their land
past identity a thing of shame - as what divides - flower of youth slaughtered in some foreign field
people abort, abuse and euthanise
from birth to death role models “snort”, “have sex” life’s an accident without meaning or value
chivalry’s scorned

Has the grail
brought by Joseph
to these shores been withdrawn?

Our borders wide open for ravaging and the taking
ours a spent force
Land of Hope and Glory too sad to sing
ichabod - the glory, departed
The young without conception
how things once were when
men did dream, of building “Jerusalem” ...
