In the town square at Albuferia in the Algarve human statues, dressed as historical figures or tramps stand motionless until passers by drop a coin into their tin
Only the sun
makes this place different
Time was stopped
We were at the beginning, and end of everything
Although no one knew it
Except, perhaps the human statues
Who standing motionless
Would only move
When a coin was dropped
Into their tin

The first time I saw and heard Katie Bonna performing was when she read one of her poems at Waterstone's Bookshop in the Arc in Bury St. Edmunds, the second was when a few days later I went to see a performance of 'The London Merchant' at the Theatre Royal where she played the maid, the joint female lead.
