We met in a bookshop
where else would it be
where there was you
and where there was me

You chose to be there
a place I would go
and you chose the right day
how did you know?

Our lifetime together
though painfully short
was a lifetime of love
with no other thought

both of us doing
we well understood
to do for each other
all that was good

Happy together
in love from the start
love will remain
though we are apart.
