The Revelation Of A Nightmare Copyright © Victor Weston 2011

In my dream I screamed, I could not hear the sound
as there, in the boot of the car,
was revealed
a dead body

symbols, dreams and screams
a loss, a disappointment and a bereavement
things are not as they seem;
stark reality is laid bare

with equanimity we imagine the best
about people and our loved ones
but underneath that thin veneer of civilisation
is the Id, its not good

If I need redemption
so do those who matter to me, - and the rest
why then are we so mealy-mouthed
about sharing that crust which saves
